A

Account

Your personal space on the blockchain where your crypto, tokens, and NFTs are stored. It’s like your bank account allowing you to hold, send, and receive digital funds. Your account is tied to a public-private key pair, where the public key acts as the account address and the private key grants access to the funds.
Address

Your public-facing ID on the blockchain — like your wallet’s mailing address. It’s a long string of letters and numbers that people can use to send you crypto. You can safely share it, but never confuse it with your private key or seed phrase.
Airdrop

Free crypto, dropped straight into your wallet by a crypto project or company. New crypto projects often use airdrops to reward early supporters or loyal communities and get the word out. Sometimes just holding a certain token or completing a simple task is enough to qualify.
Allocation

How coins or tokens are distributed among the stakeholders of a crypto project – whether it’s across investors, developers, the community, or reserves. You might also hear this in terms of investing, as in how your portfolio is distributed across different coins (e.g. 50% SOL, 50% USDC).
Altcoin

Any cryptocurrency that’s not Bitcoin. Solana, Ethereum, Avalanche, and even memecoins all fall under the altcoin category.
Annual Percentage Yield (APY)

The yearly return you earn from staking, lending, or yield farming — expressed as a percentage. APY includes the effect of compounding, so it shows how much your crypto could grow over a full year.
Ape / Aped

Jumping into a token or project with full enthusiasm (and sometimes little research). “Aped in” means going all-in fast — usually driven by hype or FOMO.
Assets

Anything you hold in your wallet — tokens, coins, NFTs, and more. Assets can be used for trading, staking, spending, or collecting. In Solflare, all your assets on the Solana blockchain show up in one place.
ATH (All Time High)

The highest price a crypto asset has ever reached. It’s a milestone that traders love to watch — when an asset hits a new ATH, it’s breaking records and getting serious attention.
ATL (All Time Low)

The lowest price a crypto asset has ever dropped to. Just like ATH, ATL is a point of reference for traders — it shows the historical bottom and how far a token can potentially recover from.
Auto-slippage

An automatic adjustment that helps your trade go through even if the price moves a bit. Auto-slippage is handy when trading on fast-moving markets — it prevents your swap from failing because of tiny price changes.

I’m Not Wrong, I’m Early

A playful way of saying you’re holding onto a project even if it’s not popular (yet). It’s a bit of hopium — the idea that you’re ahead of the crowd, not mistaken.

K

KYC (Know Your Customer)

A process that exchanges and some apps use to verify your identity, usually by uploading an ID. It’s meant to follow laws and protect against fraud or money laundering.

Yield

The rewards or returns you earn from staking, lending, or farming crypto. Think of yield as your “crypto interest” — it can be paid out in the same token you staked or another token.
